Carla Wilson Band

Steve Stowe
(Bass Guitar/Keyboards/Organ/Vocals)

Steve has been playing bass in central North Carolina for 20+ years. Born in Concord, North Carolina, Steve relocated with his family to Cary. As the youngest of 3 boys, Steve’s brothers introduced him to bass guitar by taking him to concerts such as Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi, among many others.

That concert exposure was the catalyst that launched Steve into following his dream. Today, Steve is an accomplished bass player.  By the time he was 20, he had already performed in numerous bands, orchestras, and ensembles and found himself the youngest member of a hard-hitting Christian Rock band based in Raleigh, NC which successfully recorded 2 CD’s and toured the Carolinas and Virginia for 6 years.

After briefly filling in on drums, Steve continued recording and performing bass in a local church of about 5000 members. His experiences range from a complete 70 member orchestra and 200 member choir, to a three piece jazz/country/rock ensemble. Influenced by such diverse artists as Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and all types of country, Steve used this opportunity to progressively perfect his technique and began to search for a band that is not afraid of adventure.

With Carla’s encouragement, Steve joined a local country band. It was during this time that Steve began to urge Carla to continue her music career and the collaboration was born.
